Skin cancers treated with curcumin

A very different pigment called curcumin saturates turmeric the spice that gives curry powder its distinctive yellow and may help lower the odds of cancer. In one study, rats fed curcumin and then exposed to cancer causing chemicals developed fewer and smaller tumours than rats on a standard diet. Scientists at the Amala Cancer Research Centre in India have found in other anial studies that skin cancers treated with curcumin are less likely to spread to other parts of the body than untreated cancers.
